The second recital in the new PizzaExpress Art Song Series at The Pheasantry, King’s Road, Chelsea.

Julia Sitkovetsky – soprano
Martha McLorinan – mezzo-soprano
William Vann – piano

Russian music possesses a unique emotional intensity, and Sergei Rachmaninov captured this in song like no other composer. Julia Sitkovetsky (“outstanding” – The Observer) will make her debut recording on Hyperion this month with a disc of Rachmaninov songs. She is joined by prize-winning mezzo-soprano Martha McLorinan: Martha has been acclaimed for her “forthright, radiant, powerful and intense” performances by The Guardian and The Times. Both are accompanied by prize-winning accompanist William Vann (“William Vann is the most sensitive of pianists.” – Fanfare).
