Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea
Wren Players
William Vann – conductor and harpsichord

We celebrate the 325th anniversary of the admission of the first Chelsea Pensioners to the Royal Hospital Chelsea with an ambulatory feast of favourite baroque music, reaching across the centuries to Stuart Britain. The evening concludes with a glass of wine in the Great Hall.

• An open air performance of Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks and Water Music
• Henry Purcell’s Ode to St. Cecilia in the Wren Chapel, sung by the Royal Hospital Chapel Choir with the Wren Players
• Readings from 17th-century literature by the Chelsea Pensioners

‘First-class personnel… it’s the tension and subtlety in the performances that catch the ear.’ (Gramophone on the Royal Hospital Choir)
