Will is an experienced performer of a wide range of ‘jazz’ styles and performs regularly as a solo cocktail jazz pianist and in many different groups across the U.K. His favourite mix is the jazz trio, either in its ‘pure’ form with a bassist and drummer, or with a bassist and a horn player, be it a clarinet, tenor sax or trumpet. He first became fascinated with jazz at school, where he and a few friends set up a group that was known variously as The Jazzuits or The Scampy Fries.
Since then his style has evolved and he is strongly influenced by the piano playing of Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock and countless jazz instrumentalists and singers.
