Thursdays at St Stephen’s 2008-9 launched!

The second full season of Thursdays at St Stephen’s, a recital series of vocal and chamber music at St Stephen’s Church, Gloucester Road, will begin on 16th October 2008 with a violin and piano recital given by Florence Cooke and Daniel Tong.

Further highlights during the season, which lasts until June 2009, include the world premiere of Martin Eastwood’s Erotic Fragments by James Gilchrist, a concert of Strauss and Mahler sung by Britten-Pears young artists, a return visit to the series by the Nephele Ensemble and an exploration of Wolf’s Morike songbook.

All advance purchases receive a discount of £1 per ticket so do book early. The full concert listings will be up on this site by 1st October.

Britten-Pears Programme

William has been chosen to participate as a Britten-Pears Young Artist for the second year running as part of a Schubert Lieder course with Christian Gerhaher and Richard Stokes at Snape Maltings.

Owing to unforeseen circumstances, the concert “3 Old - 3 New” on 10th April 2008 has been postponed to 24th April 2008 at the same time of 7:30pm. Many apologies to those of you who have cleared your diaries for this evening, but the concert promises to be a fantastic occasion and will be well worth the wait.

Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust

The Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust, a body set up in memory of the great Australian accompanist, has agreed to support William’s piano studies and the Thursdays at St Stephen’s recital series. Thursdays at St Stephen’s, a new recital series of classical music concerts in St Stephen’s Church, Gloucester Road, London SW7, begins on 29th November with an evening recital given by Julien Debreuil (Baritone) and William Vann (Piano).
